Yoga for Happiness and Well-Being

One to one sessions offer you the opportunity to learn yoga and mindfulness at your own pace, to meet your specific needs. Whether you have physical health issues, anxiety, depression , are living with cancer, trauma, chronic pain or any other health vulnerability, I will tailor each hour to meet your needs each time you come.

Yoga, meditation and deep relaxation have brought much joy and peace into my life, and have supported and strengthened me through tougher times.

My intention is to share what I have learnt and to create a place for each student’s personal exploration of his or her body, mind and essential essence.

I dedicate my classes to the health and wellbeing of all those who wish to share this part of their journey with me.

If you would like to discuss you personal needs or check on whether a certain class is what your are looking for, please do email or telephone me. I look forward to talking to you.

About Yoga ...

Yoga works with careful attention to the alignment of the body. Over time yoga increases flexibility, builds strength and improves posture.

When performed correctly, yoga tones and purifies the digestive, hormonal, respiratory and circulatory systems.

The practice demands full focus and attention; this brings harmony and balance to the emotions and the mind.

The body is not simply the outer container of the person but is, in fact, the very embodiment of all we are. Every stress and every joy is held in our physical form. Yoga can help us to support and heal our bodies and can also help us to understand, support and heal our emotions and our minds too.

I am currently teaching all yoga students in one to one sessions from the Studio at my home in Cley. Please see the one to one section for my intention and motivation.

SUSANNA’S STYLE OF YOGA

Susanna qualified as an Iyengar teacher in 2001 and has gone on to work with Scaravelli teachers, and qualify with The British Wheel of Yoga.

In the course of Susanna's own 30 year practice, and especially when pregnant and in the post natal months, learnt the importance of respecting the body, for it is not simply the outer container of the person but is, in fact, the very embodiment of all we are. Every stress and every joy is held in our physical form. Yoga can help us not just to support and heal our bodies but to understand, support and heal our emotions and our minds too.

Susanna has had a 26 year daily meditation practice and in 2009 embraced Mindfulness Meditation (please see the mindfulness page). Susanna’s teaching incorporates the principles of mindfulness into yoga. She invites careful attention to all aspects of our being, using physical postures and the breath to explore what is present, not to try to force the body into a fixed or rigid shape but to investigate how we yield to or resist each posture.

Susanna teaches with fine attention to detail but encourages students to respect their body, nature and well-being moment to moment.
